You have access to everything in the home and property except the locked garage and a hallway closet marked with a STAFF ONLY sign.
No fumbling with keys; self-check-in is available with digital keypad.
Parking for up to 2 vehicles is available in the full driveway. Ample street parking also is available in the neighborhood. Absolutely NO parking on the lawn!
Southwood House offers extremely close freeway access and is close to many restaurants, grocery stores, and big chain stores (Walmart, Costco, Winco, Target); Washington Square Mall is just a 10-minute drive. You’ll be in the quaint little Portland neighborhood called Southwood, nestled right between gorgeous Lake Oswego and the city of Tigard, where you can do all your shopping. You’ll be minutes from Portland Community College’s gorgeous main campus with access to a track, library, and more. Downtown Portland is just a 15-minute drive and is hopping with an eclectic dining scene including our famous food trucks and high-end eateries. Check out the local brands and indie boutiques. For day trips, check out Willamette Valley vineyards, Cannon Beach, and Oregon’s famous waterfalls.
Other Details to Note
Two Ring security cameras are installed and set up to record for your safety, one at the door and one at the side of the house. For privacy, the side camera is positioned away from the gazebo and backyard.
No parties/events are permitted.
Because of owner allergies, no pets are tolerated. Undisclosed pets will result in a $1,000 fine and immediate eviction.
Southwood House is right off Hwy 5, so the ocean-like, normal hum of a freeway can be heard.
Ants cause an occasional issue seasonally, especially if food and crumbs are present, but are quicky handled.
Southwood is a quiet neighborhood; please respect neighbors by keeping noise reasonable and maintaining quiet hours from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m.
Please kindly remove your shoes inside the home as Portland rains can track in significant mud.

PITTOCK MANSION: This is a historic house turned into a museum. Take your loved ones on a tour and see an incredible, sweeping view of Portland off their back lawn! You can even tour the servant’s quarters, a separate house located on the property. When you’re done, stop by their shop for some souvenirs.
HOYT ARBORETUM: This is a 189-acre public park just two miles from downtown Portland. It was originally founded in 1928 to promote conservation of endangered species. You’ll find miles of hiking that you don’t want to miss!
If you want to stay out of nature but don’t want to miss out on the stunning views Portland has to offer, then get fancy for the night and grab happy hour at the famous PORTLAND CITY GRILL. You will not only enjoy a stunning view of the Cascade Mountains, but some incredible eats as well! Listen to their live evening music and enjoy your favorite beverage and delicious eats from their impressive menu. If you only get one night out, THIS is where you want to go to enjoy a truly happy hour!
MT. TABOR PARK – Come explore one of Portland’s parks that is built on top of a volcano. There are close to 200 acres to explore, and if you come in the summer, you can catch their Adult Soapbox Derby! Mount Tabor offers paths that are paved all the way up to the top of the mountain, has bathrooms and designated play areas for the kids. A fun way to spend the day!
POWELL BUTTE: The vista view is worth the drive and offers lots of hiking and trails. Take a look and plan your trip!
PORTLAND JAPANESE GARDEN – Immerse yourself in Japanese culture! Enjoy gorgeous, serene gardens, a waterfall, and a mountain view over a 5.5-acre area to explore. Finish your visit by stopping in at their teahouse and enjoy a new tea and a mochi ice cream flight at the Umami Café.
OMSI is a fantastic science museum and play space to entertain the kids, where you can watch a movie and grab some food if you need to rest or refuel.
In the summers, take the family down to the BILL NAITO LEGACY FOUNTAIN. Located in Waterfront Park off Naito Parkway, it offers a fun family experience along the river waterfront. Kids will love splashing in the fountain. Enjoy a whole day of summer fun in the sun at this water retreat!
Book lovers absolutely must visit POWELL’S CITY OF BOOKS, the largest used and new bookstore in the world! Powell’s is famous for spanning an entire city block and showcasing one million books, including rare and out-of-print titles! Known as the City of Books, you can explore for hours through over 3,500 sections. They even have a children’s story time. There is something for everyone!
THE INTERNATIONAL ROSE TEST GARDEN: Come see over 10,000 rose bushes and about 650 varieties of roses. Come in June for the best display, but anytime between April through October you will see gorgeous blooms. It is stunning, and if you visit the Portland area in season, this is a must visit.
If you’ve got the time, take the 1.5-hour drive and visit CANNON BEACH for the day! It is like no other coastal city. This small town is known for its long shore and HAYSTACK ROCK, which stands smack dab in the middle of the shore. Explore the tide pools, brimming with bright sea stars, sea anemone and fish, not to mention it is home to puffins! Watch them circle the rock as you roll up your pants and stick your toes in the tides. While you’re visiting, be sure to stop by ECOLA STATE PARK for a breathtaking view of the coast, and don’t miss out on the coves and lighthouse. Stop by local boutiques and sweet shops or stop for a coffee or burger at one of the numerous eateries. This coastline is like no other and is uniquely of the Northwest!
